Signal, check your mirrors, and take the next exit. On the Marsha Sharp or I-27, use a real exit rather than the shoulder if you can. Between the work zones and the crosswind coming off open ground, the shoulder is a poor place to stand around.
Inspect the Damage
A chip the size of a quarter or smaller, away from the edges and your sightline, may allow careful driving to a safe location. Anything larger, longer, or on the edge needs a technician first.
